How do I Preventing Image HotLinking?
Step 1:
Sometimes, you want to prevent others from linking to your pictures. To do so, first log into vDeck and click on Preferences.
Step 2:
Make sure system files has a check in the box (which means it is enabled). If it does not, put a check and click update at the bottom.
Step 3:
Next, click on Host Manager.
Step 4:
Click on File Manager.
Step 5:
We need to be in the public_html folder. If you are not, click on the public_html folder.
Step 6:
The file we need to edit is called (.htaccess). Find it under public_html and click on the edit option (the pencil and paper icon).
Step 7:
Once you are in the editor you need to type the commands that will prevent hotlinking.
Step 8:
The commands to hotlink protect can also be found here. Remember to change the domain name from vdeckdemo.com to your domain name.
Step 9:
Once you have entered the commands, click on update file.
Step 10:
You will be shown a message indicating that the file has been updated.
